I was on a coffee break in a nearby building when it was pointed out to me that a small shaker of Stevia was available. I shook some into the palm of my hand and licked.<\/p>\n<p>I believe my exact words were, after generous rinsing and spitting, &#8220;It&#8217;s like a pharmaceutical crapped in my mouth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The taste of that lick lasted several minutes, the sweetness and bitterness oscillating, ebbing on my tongue. No amount of rinsing, nor washing with hot coffee, dulled the taste until a moment or two ago.
