**Mettle to Meddle**<\/p>\n

\nHe stepped atop the atoll,<\/p>\n
was it four years to the day?<\/p>\n
A little dog set near the shore,<\/p>\n
a shore that tasted both<\/p>\n
the ebb and flow of time<\/p>\n
and waves<\/p>\n
\nHe spoke of bird, of beak, of barnacle,<\/p>\n
collected by the shore,<\/p>\n
a shore four years and counting<\/p>\n
from anything like home<\/p>\n
\n“There is a plan, there is a plan,<\/p>\n
get down on bended knee.”<\/p>\n
But if between an ape or a man<\/p>\n
who uses not his mental faculty,<\/p>\n
descended from ape I’d surely<\/p>\n
