Winter is my favorite. Starting on December 22, winter comes long after all the feature I associate with it: bone-chilling cold, snow, lots of dead vegetation (or, in the case of California: cool, rain, flourishing vegetation). This year, however, autumn appears to have come right on our schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s been grey and chilly during the day starting last week, and continuing through this weekend. I&#8217;ve enjoyed being outside, since it&#8217;s cool enough that long pants and long sleeves make for comfortable wanderings. I can already see people here stockpiling firewood, bundling up, eyeing those parkas.
