Many thanks to James Saxon (University of Pennsylvania) for arranging this tour for ATLAS physicists! Here, we see the endcap toroid magnet in the center of the photo, flanked on both sides by muon chambers. You can see the air toroids wrapped in orange tape on the left. The structure is 13-stories tall; you can see people on the floor at the bottom of the photo.
I was hoping to see *my* muon end cap chambers, but they aren’t visible from the picture.
