We cleared this wall and prepared to wash it down and paint it with special whiteboard paint. We wanted a surface near the conference table that can be used for spontaneous discussions and lots of writing – putting up a whiteboard means drilling holes, so we decided to try this experiment with paint instead!
A superconducting quadrupole magnet sits outside of a building near the French gate on the Meyrin CERN site. Quadrupole magnets are the “lenses” of the particle accelerator world, allowing focusing and defocusing of the beams.
