My journey on this large part of my seminar tour has taken me several thousand miles, through eight states, to eight institutions, in two countries. It was inevitable that this would catch up to me, and while I was hoping to stay that until I got home it seems my hope couldn’t hold. I’m fighting a small cold tonight, brought on by all the traveling and variable diet, sporadic exercise, 5 am feedings for my nephews this weekend, and general lack of stable sleep. It’s just a tiny sore throat and runny nose, but it’s something I want to shake the symptoms of by the time I have to give my last seminar tomorrow.
I’ve got lots of weapons against the cold tonight. Foremost will be sleep, but following close behind is soup, a ton of juice and tea, and some theraflu to help relieve symptoms and bring sleep a little faster. I’m in a great little hotel to my last talk, plenty comfortable for me to get lots of rest.
Tomorrow, I will speak at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I feel bad that I might be a bit off my game tomorrow, but I’ll give it everything so that I don’t feeling like I’m shorting my last host institution because of a little sniffle. All right, enough bloggery. Time to sleep.
