Grushenka: Reloaded

This vacation offered me the excellent opportunity to get together with my former band mates, Eric and Harold (find their music at “http://music.cooleysekula.net”:http://music.cooleysekula.net). We used to be in a band called Grushenka, which we started in 1995. Last night, we reviewed a bunch of early tapes we made (*never to be released*) to look for salvagable material from our first summer. We also listened to a demo tape that we cut thanks to the sound engineering talents of my college roommate, John (now lovingly called “The John Sessions”). It’s funny, to listen to yourself and your music years and years after the fact. The first thing that occurred to me was “that’s me?”, and the second was “I was a decent drummer at some point!”. Ego is great.

We started our evening of merriment at the old band hangout – the Cromwell Taco Bell (exit 19 off Rte. 9, two lefts). I’m hoping to take a weekend in thelate winter or early spring, come back, and cut some tracks with my bandmates.
