The Personal Blog of Stephen Sekula

Playing Catchup

I’ve been neglecting the science and journal aspects of this blog for some time. The reasons are good – I have been focusing on the things that have been demanding my time since the Christmas break. Mainly, faculty job search-related activities, ramping up for this year’s lobbying trip to Washington D.C., physics analysis, and what semblance of a home life is left at the end. Tomorrow marks the last of my seminar trips, of which I have had 12 so far.

I’m heading to Caltech in the morning, to deliver the HEP seminar in the afternoon. I’ve never been to Caltech before, and I’m looking forward to seeing it for the first time.

On Wednesday, I’ll be back at work until Friday morning, when I and many others head to Fermilab for the Washington trip kick-off meeting. That’s followed next week by the winter BaBar collaboration meeting, and then finally I’ll have time to again focus on research activities, which DESPERATELY need attention.
