It is the first day of classes for SMU’s spring term, 2014. I am again co-teaching our University’s only “Introduction to the Scientific Method” course – one of only about 25 such courses at Universities and Colleges nationwide.
With a new semester, I also want a new perspective on my writing in this blog. I have done a lot of critical assessment of claims in this venue over the last 2 years. I learned a lot. But I need a break from that activity. Instead, I will focus in this blog on the things I love more deeply – the process of science as applied to fundamental research. Rather than claim assessment, I would rather write for a while about physics, the LHC and ATLAS, computational work, and developments in the field.
I need a refresh of my perspectives, and I hope this will help.
