It’s been outrageously warm here in Connecticut. Today it was 55 outside, four degrees warmer than at our home in California. It’s been raining, but it cleared enough this afternoon to go for a walk with Jodi. It was nice to stretch the legs, burn a few calories (which I am trying REALLY HARD to avoid packing away this season), and see the old neighborhood. Jodi and I noticed a LOT of garbage floating in the wetlands. I spotted at least 3 Poland Spring water bottles, dozens of beer cans, potato chip bags. It’s getting to be a real mess in those wetlands, and it seems nobody is responsible for cleaning it up. Sure, there was garbage when I was a kid. However, somehow it seems twice as bad now as it did then. Living near water all young life, you see a lot of trash float by. You tend to notice if there’s more than usual.
