As I mentioned a few days ago, the smells and sights of spring are returning to the Bay Area. It cooled off a bit today, but that didn’t seem to stop some of the wildlife from making appearances. Our cats have noticed the sudden boom in birds in the last few days, particularly hummingbirds. I photographed the bird shown here later in the day as it perched on the back fence and looked for something to eat. Thankfully, the cats didn’t see her, allowing me to get the photo before she could be scared off by one of them in the window.
