I just had the opportunity to try the new artificial sweeter, “Stevia”. I was on a coffee break in a nearby building when it was pointed out to me that a small shaker of Stevia was available. I shook some into the palm of my hand and licked.
I believe my exact words were, after generous rinsing and spitting, “It’s like a pharmaceutical crapped in my mouth.”
The taste of that lick lasted several minutes, the sweetness and bitterness oscillating, ebbing on my tongue. No amount of rinsing, nor washing with hot coffee, dulled the taste until a moment or two ago. Awful, awful stuff.
I’d love to hear your opinion of Stevia.

I told you so!
I have used Stevia for years and really enjoy it. Everyones taste buds are different but I suggest you try a different brand or try it in something. I use sweetleaf stevia. I like the flavored liquids they have and use them all the time in my coffee, yogurt etc. Just like anything else you need to adjust the serving size per your taste preference. Good luck!
Hi Casey,
I’ll take your advice and give those a try. I’ll post results in the blog once I have them. I like an experiment, and this could be a fun (or painful) one.
