Thanks to Highland Park High School for their Science and Technology Festival!

by Stephen Sekula|Published February 7, 2020

Some of the speaker lineup for a period of the HPHS SciTech Fest.

I am very pleased to have been invited this year to speak at the annual Highland Park High School Science and Technology Festival. I spoke with three periods of students about the life of a traveling particle physicist and what it meant (both from a personal and professional perspective) to discover the Higgs particle. Thanks to the organizers for allowing me to be a part of this incredible event!

Euclid, the explorer of dark matter, will make a 3D-map of the cosmos by observing billions of galaxies out to 10 billion light-years, across more than a third of the sky. 5 images will be released tomorrow in a ceremony that will include discussions by mission scientists at ESA’s Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. https://www. youtube.com/watch?v=hHWbe82zM8 o https://www. esa.int/Science_Exploration/Sp ace_Science/Euclid/Media_Invitation_Euclid_mission_to_release_first_full-colour_images_of_the_cosmos_on_7_November # ESAEuclid # Euclid 1/n
