I remember learning about AIDS and HIV in grade school. I remember being confused about why there was so much stigma attached to the disease. I have always been, and continue to be, horrified by those who vilify the victims, deny the cause, or refuse to talk about it. It sickens the mind of a scientist to see so much suffering, so much fear, when what is needed is study and understanding. Perhaps, then, we might have a cure.
